MARYVILLE – Carolyn Forster has joined the Blount Memorial Hospital board of directors. Forster began serving in March, after being appointed by the Blount County Commission. The hospital’s board is comprised of nine members elected for three year renewable terms. Four directors are elected by the Blount County Commission, two by the City of Maryville, two by the City of Alcoa and one by the Board of Trustees of Maryville College.
Forster, a strong community leader, previously served on the boards of directors and in volunteer roles for the East Tennessee Regional Leadership Association (ETRLA), United Way of Blount County, the ALCOA Foundation, the Foothills Fall Festival, Junior Service League, Nine Counties One Vision and the Blount County Chapter of the American Red Cross, among others.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Forster lives in Maryville and has two daughters, Joy Carver and Rebecca Forster, and two grandchildren.
