Exploring the Carl D. Bradley Sunken Steamer
Thursday, July 24, 1:30-3 p.m.
Alan Williams, Rhea's Diving professional diver
The Carl D. Bradley steamer is one of the two largest vessels to sink in the Great Lakes. The Edmund Fitzgerald, her sister ship, sank in Lake Superior in 1975, and the Bradley sank in Lake Michigan on November 18, 1958. Her sinking took the lives of 33 of the 35 crew members. In 2006, Williams assisted in the exploration of the Bradley and the filming of the documentary of its' fate, and will account his adventures with the project. This event is sponsored by Blount Memorial Senior Services, Maryville College and Vienna Coffee Company. For more information, call 865-977-5744.
