W ater supports the body, reduces joint stress, and provides resistance and assistance to movement. Our top-flight teams of aquatic therapeutic professionals are specially trained in low-impact, water-based therapy techniques appropriate for both swimmers and non-swimmers. Total Rehabilitation’s aquatic therapy facilities include SwimEx resistance pools, and a warm water therapeutic pool and lap pool.
Available aquatic therapy services include:
- the SwimEx complete aquatic therapy system available at both locations
- safe, comfortable exercise options for increasing range of motion, strength, endurance and mobility
- expert, water-based physical therapy for people recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgery, stroke and other neurological conditions, or those living with chronic conditions
Personalized approach
Aquatic therapy is particularly helpful for patients who cannot tolerate weight-bearing activity including those with Total Joint Replacement. Our therapists partner with each patient’s physician to develop an individualized aquatic rehabilitation program designed to return the patient to his or her activities of daily living as quickly as possible.
