Comprehensive cancer care and support. Close to home.
Blount Memorial provides expert, compassionate care and support to adults with cancer through its cancer care treatment areas, which include a dedicated inpatient oncology unit and comprehensive Cancer Center. The center and dedicated in-hospital unit feature the latest technologies and treatments, and the overall program is approved by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
The multidisciplinary Blount Memorial cancer care team consists of dedicated physicians, nurses, therapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists and lab technicians, plus the staffs of radiation oncology, radiology, Palliative Care and the Breast Health Center.
A tumor conference team, comprised of experts from some of the same clinical areas of the hospital, meets weekly to discuss current and new cancer patients’ cases. Through discussion with physicians of different specialty areas, including oncology, surgery, radiology and pathology, to name a few, the group recommends the most appropriate treatment.
