In-home skilled care for residents of Blount, Knox, Loudon, Monroe and Sevier counties

Blount Memorial Home Services delivers the physician-ordered skilled care that patients need to live safely at home. Our services include:

Disease Management Programs: Home Services offers five patient education programs, which help patients better manage their own medical care and reduce the chance of re-hospitalization. Programs offered include:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Dysphagia
  • Heart Failure
  • Pneumonia
  • Wound Care

Infusion Therapy: Skilled nurses work with the patient's infusion pharmacy to deliver intravenous fluids in the comfort and convenience of the patient's home.

Telemonitors: Home Services offers in-home electronic monitoring to qualifying patients. An easy-to-use, tabletop device connects patients to health care providers. This innovative system helps detect and prevent potential health problems by monitoring a patient's vital signs from home.

Coaguchek-S PT/INR: When a patient's physician has ordered nursing care and the patient is taking an anticoagulant such as Coumadin, nurses can perform a simple finger stick in order to gather essential information without a formal laboratory test.  This instant result allows nurses to contact the patient's physician and immediately adjust the medication when necessary.

Lifeline: Lifeline provides seniors, people with disabilities or chronic medical conditions, and those recovering from illness or injury with the confidence and sense of security to live independently at home. One touch of a simple, waterproof button connects Lifeline users with a caring, professional who can immediately assess the situation and respond appropriately. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Physical and Occupational Therapy: After illness, injury, joint replacement surgery or any surgical procedure, patients can continue the therapeutic care they were receiving at the hospital in the comfort of their home. Therapists also work with each patient's physician to create an in-home regime which may include therapeutic strengthening exercises, instruction in the use of assistive devices, and gait, balance and safety training.

Speech-language Pathology: Our experienced speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat disorders of speech, language, cognition and swallowing.

Telemonitoring: Home Services offers in-home electronic monitoring, which connects qualifying patients to health care providers through an easy-to-use tabletop device. This system helps detect and prevent potential health problems by monitoring a patient's vital signs from home.

A physician referral is required to access our services and programs. For more information, call Home Services at 865-981-2160 .
